What are the issues to pay attention to when doing atomizati
Nebulization inhalation is the process of dispersing drugs into mist or particles suspended in gas, and inhaling them through the mouth or nose to achieve the goals of moistening respiratory mucosa, expectorant, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, etc. When choosing to undergo nebulization therapy at home, you must know the following precautions!
1. Regular ventilation is required indoors to maintain fresh air.
2. Before nebulization, clean the oral and nasal secretions to maintain smooth breathing.
3. Do not apply grease face cream before atomization to avoid drug deposition on the face.
Before nebulization, it is necessary to fast for 1-2 hours to avoid vomiting or choking caused by crying during nebulization, which may worsen the condition.
5. Sitting, semi sitting, or side lying positions can be used. Avoid using a supine position.
6. Tilt the head slightly backwards during atomization to keep the airway unobstructed.
7. Try to use mouth to mouth inhalation, using the method of inhaling and exhaling slowly and deeply. Infants and young children can choose face mask nebulization, and the face mask should be sealed with a closed mouth and nose.
Children who cry excessively can undergo nebulization after sleep.
9. Perform nebulization therapy in the order of first using bronchodilators (terbutaline sulfate nebulization solution or ipratropium bromide solution), and then using glucocorticoids (budesonide suspension for inhalation).
10. During atomization, the amount of mist should be adjusted from small to large for inhalation.
11. The optimal atomization time is 5-10 minutes.
12. The atomizing cup should be kept vertical. When coughing, move the nebulizer cup away to avoid secretions entering the cup. Observe the amount of medication in the cup at any time. If it does not decrease but increases, it indicates that secretions have entered the cup. Stop nebulization immediately to prevent secretions from entering the respiratory tract and increasing the risk of infection.
13. After nebulization, tap the patient's chest and back with a hollow palm from outside to inside and from bottom to top, indirectly loosening and shedding the sputum on the surrounding bronchial walls, making it easier to cough up.
After nebulization, it is necessary to wash your face and rinse your mouth to reduce the deposition of medication in the mouth and throat. If the child cannot rinse their mouth, they can use physiological saline cotton balls to wipe their mouth, and after 10 minutes, let the child drink water or milk. Rinse the atomizing cup repeatedly with clean water and let it dry for later use.
