Silk Suture is a sterile non-absorbable, braided suture composed of natural silk organic protein called fibroin. This protein is derived from the Bompyx mori species of silkworm, from the Bombycidaeb family. Indications of Silk Non-absorbable Sutures:

Silk Non-absorbable Sutures are indicated for use in general surgery. It is suitable for use in soft tissue and for ligation, general surger including use in ophthalmic procedures, cardiovascular and neurological tissues. As the tensile strength of Dtek Silk Sutures will be greatly reduced over time, it should not be used when extensive suture support is necessary.
